Terminology
Saving – Setting aside funds with the intention of spending it later. This could be for an emergency fund, saving for a new car, etc.
Investing – Setting aside funds with the intention to grow your asset base (net worth) to secure your retirement (financial freedom).
Assets – Things that you own. These can be cash or something you can convert into cash, e.g. property, shares, etc.
Compound Interest – Interest earned on the principal amount and accumulated interest earned from previous periods.
Cash flow – The measure of actual cash flowing in and out of your life.
Liquidity – How quickly you can convert assets into cash.
